Footage circulating online showed him leaving the temple with a tilak applied to his forehead. The actor acknowledged the paparazzi with a smile and a greeting. Netizens called out the actor for disrespecting religious sentiments.

One netizen commented, “The least you could do is dress up appropriately for the mandir (sic).” Another Instagram user wrote, “Prabhu shirt toh pehen lete kuch toh dhanka pehen leta tu mandir ayaa hain Sirf batane ke leye jabarjasti kyu ateyy hoon yaar (sic).” Another netizen remarked, “Went temple in stupid dress and he is seeking blessings now… (sic).” Varun has not yet issued any statement regarding the trolling he is facing on social media because of his outfit.

The release date of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai has been changed multiple times. Initially, the film was scheduled to release on June 5, 2026. To avoid clashing with Toxic, the release was advanced to May 22, 2026. However, after Toxic was delayed, the makers of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai decided to stick to the original date, June 5.

Advance booking for Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai began on Tuesday. According to Sacnilk, the film has sold around 4,000 tickets so far, earning Rs. 16.21 lakh on the first day without blocked seats, and Rs. 95.54 lakh with blocked seats.

With the release still two days away, pre-sales are expected to increase. The trailer and songs of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai have received mixed reviews. So, we’ll have to wait and see what kind of response the movie gets at the box office.
