Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer Adipurush to NOT release during Sankranthi 2023, gets postponed- Report

Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer Adipurush has been making headlines ever since it was announced. Adipurush teaser was released earlier this month in Ayodhya. The film has been scheduled to release in January next year. However, if latest reports are to be believed, the makers of Adipurush have planned to push the release date. Reportedly, Adipurush will not release on January 12, 2023. The makers of Adipurush are yet to make an official announcement regarding the release date.

Adipurush is a modern day adaptation of Ramayana. Prabhas plays Lord Ram and Kriti plays the role of Sita. The movie was set to release on the occasion of Sankranthi on January 12, 2023. However, according to the latest reports, the release date has been pushed to Summer 2023. The official statement will be reportedly released by the makers this week.

For the uninitiated, Vijay starrer Varisu makers recently confirmed that the movie will be released on Sankranthi. Apart from this, Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja’s untitled film, Mega 154 and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy are also releasing on Sankranthi 2023.

Coming back to Adipurush, earlier at the teaser launch event, Prabhas admitted that he was terrified to play Lord Ram. He said, “I was really frightened to portray this character. After three days of the fear, I called Om (Raut). We made the film with lots of love and respect. Now, we need Lord Rama’s blessings. Jai Shree Ram.”

Earlier, talking about Adipurush, Prabhas said in a statement, “Every role and every character comes with its own challenges, but portraying a character like this comes with tremendous responsibility and pride. I am very excited to portray this character of our epic, especially the way Om has designed it. I am sure the youth of our country will shower all their love on our film.”

Apart from Prabhas and Kriti, Adipurush also stars Saif Ali Khan, Sunny Singh and Devdatta Nage.
