Raja Shivaji will have different runtimes in Hindi and Marathi; the Hindi version’s runtime will be 8 minutes shorter to achieve a crisper narrative, as Riteish Deshmukh aims. One of the most anticipated projects of the year, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on May 1. While it has been announced that the movie will be released in multiple languages, new updates reveal that the Hindi and Marathi versions will have distinct durations.
Raja Shivaji Hindi Version Runtime Is 8 Mins Shorter Than Marathi Cut?
According to Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC has awarded Raja Shivaji a UA 16+ certificate. The Marathi version will run for 3 hours, 15 minutes, and 5 seconds. In contrast, the Hindi version will be approximately 8 minutes shorter, at 3 hours, 7 minutes, and 5 seconds. It’s not the CBFC demanding edits; rather, Riteish Deshmukh has intentionally chosen to keep the Hindi version more streamlined for a crisper experience.
“Usually, two versions of a film have the same duration. However, Riteish Deshmukh has tried a novel experiment and kept the narrative crisp for the Hindi audience. Meanwhile, for the Marathi audience, which would probably be more attracted to the film due to the local flavour, the actor-director has gone for a longer version,” a source shared with a portal.
