Rajesh Kumar is one of the most loved actors in the industry. Over the years, his name has been synonymous with some of the most iconic characters and TV shows. Be it Roshesh in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai or Dishtdumn Sharma in Mrs & Mr Sharma Allahabadwale and Subodh Labshankar Thakkar in Baa, Bahu Aur Baby, Rajesh has always won hearts with his performances. In his career, Rajesh has been a part of films as well. For the uninitiated, Rajesh was a part of Punit Malhotra directorial Student of the Year 2 which starred Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday, and Tara Sutaria.

In the movie, Rajesh played the role of Tiger’s character Rohan’s uncle, Prem Narayan Sachdev. He had a small role in the movie. Recently, Rajesh joined Bollywood Bubble for a candid conversation and opened up about his reduced screen time in SOTY 2. The actor revealed that he quit acting for farming post that.

Rajesh talks about his reduced screen time in SOTY 2

Rajesh said, “Student of the Year 2 uske baad fir mein 5 saal farming mein chala gaya tha. So after Student of the Year I had taken off. (After Student of the Year 2, I went into farming for 5 years).”

He added, “I had umeed but jis tarike se jitna shoot hua tha aur jitna dikha usme zameen asmaan ka farq tha. So, it didn’t get noticed too much. Shoot kaafi hua tha. Aap agar kisi bhi film ke schedule mein agar aap 15 aur 16 din shoot kar rahe hot oh role is important enough. Whether aapka presence ho ya fir aapko dialgues mile ho ya fir aapke scenes ho but usme kainchi aisi chali ki, bas crew cut baal hi bacha tha. (There was a huge difference between the way it was shot and what was shown. So, it didn’t get noticed too much. There was a lot of shooting. If you are shooting for 15 and 16 days, then the role is important enough. Whether you have a presence, some dialogues, scenes but they got cut as such that only crew cut hair were left).”

Furthermore, Rajesh also revealed that he went into farming for a spiritual reason. Adding to that, he also opened up about the equation between the OG Sarabhais and how Rupali Ganguly, Ratna Pathak Shah, Satish Shah, and Sumeet Raghavan are the same as their characters. That’s not all, he also revealed if season 3 of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai is on the cards.

Rajesh was last seen in Haddi, in which he played a menacing character named Satto. Haddi also starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Anurag Kashyap.
