Rajinikanth rushed to hospital

Megastar Rajinikanth was rushed to hospital on Friday after he complained of severe fluctuation in his blood pressure. The veteran actor was in Hyderabad shooting for his upcoming film ‘Annaatthe’. The shooting of the film was stalled after a few crew members had tested positive for Covid-19. Fortunately, the megastar had tested negative for the novel Coronavirus.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, an official statement from the Apollo Hospital reads, “Mr Rajnikanth has been admitted in the hospital today in the morning. He was shooting for a movie in Hyderabad since the last 10 days. A couple of people on the sets tested positive for Covid-19. Mr Rajnikanth was tested on 22 December for Covid-19 and he was negative. Since then he isolated himself and was monitored closely.”

The statement further adds, “Though he did not have any symptoms of Covid-19, his Blood Pressure showed severe fluctuations and needed further evaluation for which he has been admitted to the hospital. He will be investigated and monitored closely in the hospital till his blood pressure settles down before being discharged. Apart from fluctuating blood pressure and exhaustion he does not have any other symptoms and is hemodynamically stable.”

We wish the ‘Robot’ actor a speedy recovery.

Work-wise, the actor was last seen in AR Murugadoss’ ‘Darbar’. The veteran actor will be next seen in ‘Annaatthe’ directed by Siruthai Siva. The film also features Keerthy Suresh, Meena and Kushbhu in pivotal roles. He is yet to announce his next Bollywood film.
