Rajpal Yadav’s Lawyer Says Nearly 90% Of Original Rs 5 Cr Amount Has Been Deposited In Cheque Bounce Case

Rajpal Yadav appeared before the court in his ongoing cheque bounce case. The court granted him two months, according to his lawyer. The lawyer also stated that co-accused Radha Rajpal Yadav has received relief. However, he clarified that the legal team is still waiting to study the detailed written judgment before commenting on its full impact. Speaking after the hearing, the lawyer said that only a part of the judgment was pronounced in court and that the complete order is yet to be examined. Rajpal Yadav’s Lawyer Says Nearly 90% Of Original Amount Has Been Deposited

The lawyer further explained that the matter is not only about repayment of money but also involves important legal questions. He said Rajpal Yadav had earlier argued before the court that a person cannot be punished more than once for the same offence. Since the dispute involves the same cheque, the defence believes the court will consider whether a fresh punishment is legally justified.

He also said that while the same cheque can lead to both civil and criminal proceedings, the terms of subsequent agreements are equally important. According to him, if a new agreement replaces an earlier one, the previous agreement may no longer remain effective. The lawyer said these legal aspects will become clear once the detailed order is available.

On the financial side, the lawyer claimed that nearly Rs 4.5 crore has already been deposited. It is out of the original amount of around Rs 5 crore. He added that there are multiple connected cases. There are different proceedings mentioning figures of around Rs 10.5 crore, Rs 11 crore and Rs 11.5 crore.

According to the lawyer, the amounts already deposited are expected to be adjusted as per the court’s order. For now, the lawyer said the court has granted Rajpal Yadav two months. He added that the legal team will issue a detailed clarification after carefully studying the complete judgment.
