Rakul Preet Singh Breaks Silence On Recent IT Raids; Denies Illegal Foreign Remittance, Benami Property Claims Saying, “The Search Was Not Pertaining To Me”

Over the last couple of days, actress Rakul Preet Singh’s name has been in the headlines in regards to IT raids being conducted at multiple locations in Mumbai linked to her, her father-in-law – producer Vashu Bhagnani and Panorama Studios. The actress has now taken to her Instagram Stories and slammed the reports alleging her involvement in any illegal practices.

In her note, the actress, added that she’s a law-abiding citizen who has been paying her taxes since she was 20. Scroll below to read all she wrote.

Rakul Preet Singh to Instagram and share a lengthy note while addressing the allegations being levied against her. She began the note writing, “It’s heartbreaking to see that there’s a growing trend amongst the self-styled online reporters & some mainstream media journalists to sensationalise the news without verifying facts.”

Addressing the recent IT raids conducted, the actress continued, “Let’s therefore set the record straight once and for all. The search was not pertaining to me. Let it be known that I am from the Armed Forces background & had no Godfather in the Industry. I have come up through sheer hard work & as a responsible, law-abiding citizen have been paying my due taxes since the age of 20 years.”

Rakul: I Do Not Hold Any Benami Property In The Country Or Abroad

Further stating that she isn’t involved in ‘any kind of illegal foreign remittance’ Rakul Preet Singh added, “I would also add here that I do not hold any Benami property on behalf of anyone anywhere in the country or abroad. Neither ANYONE has EVER gifted me any property at any time, nor do I accept such expensive gifts as a principle.”

Urging media houses to remove any false and misinformative story from their portal, the ‘Ramayana’ actress added, “I urge all those who published these false, malicious and speculative reports to retract them and clarify the facts. I understand that everyone running a media business, however big, has their own commercial pressures. But it cannot come at the cost of facts. And certainly not at the cost of someone’s reputation and livelihood.”

On the work front, Rakul Preet Singh will soon be seen playing a pivotal role in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. The actress – who essays the role of Surpanakha in the two-part epic, recently began dubbing. The first part of the epic – starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi is Mata Sita and Yash as Ravana, will release during Diwali 2026. The film also stars Ravi Dubey, Sunny Deol and many more stars
