Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus Ramayana starring Ranbir Kapoor has been the talk of the town for the longest time. Neither makers nor cast members have confirmed anything around the film, but if reports are to be believed Ranbir has started training for the same. While speculations around the cast are happening every day, looks like the film has hit a roadblock in the early stage itself. Producer Madhu Mantena has backed out of Ramayana.

Madhu Mantena is not co-producing Ranbir Kapoor starrer Ramayana?

If a recent report by Siasat is to be believed, producer Madhu Mantena has backed out of the project. Reportedly, Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial was being co-produced by Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena but the latter has stepped back from his role as a producer now. The reason behind Madhu Mantena’s alleged decision is not known as of now. It should also be noted that the makers have not yet officially confirmed Mantena’s backing out yet. With Mantena backing out of the project, Namit Malhotra, the CEO of DNEG—an Oscar-winning VFX company has been reported to be a part of Ramayana’s production.

About Ramayana

In Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, Ranbir Kapoor will be essaying the role of Lord Ram. He will be joined by Sai Pallavi who has been roped in for the role of Goddess Sita. Notably, Sai replaced Alia Bhatt to play Goddess Sita in the film. However, she backed out due to dates-related issues. KGF star Yash is speculated to play Ravana in the movie with Sunny Deol also joining the cast to play the role of Hanuman. Apart from him, Lara Dutta has been roped in to play Kaikeyi. Additionally, Bobby Deol and Vijay Sethupathi are also reportedly in talks to play the role of Kumbhakarna and Vibhashana respectively. Another update from the film is that according to some reports, Amitabh Bachchan has been cast as King Dashrath.
