Ranbir Kapoor on Deepika Padukone and 'Padmavati' movie

Recently, the trailer of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming magnum opus ‘Padmavati’ was released. As expected, within minutes the trailer went viral across the web and took the internet by storm. Many would be aware that this period drama features actress Deepika Padukone playing the titular role along with Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor playing the male leads. Post the release of the trailer, many B-Town celebs showered their praises on the film, via their social media handles. Among them, Deepika’s ex-boyfriend and co-star Ranbir Kapoor too chose to speak about it along with actress Alia Bhatt as they both had made their way at a press conference of Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival.

Ranbir Kapoor said, “You feel bad but you feel inspired as well. This is my tenth year. Probably earlier on I was more competitive and jealous but then you reach a point where it’s about your survival, your choices and how good you are. Now when I see Varun doing ‘Judwaa’ I feel happy because so early he has learnt the art of pleasing the audience. Further, Alia chose to say, “When I saw Deepika’s look in ‘Padmavati’ I was jumping in my room because it looks so exciting. But initially I wasn’t like that. I am a very competitive person but I feel that we’re in a space where we can actually be inspired by each other’s work.” [sic]

Well, certainly there’s no doubt that not only our B-Town stars but everyone out there is eagerly awaiting now for the release of ‘Padmavati’.

Talking about the film ‘Padmavati’, it witnesses Shahid Kapoor playing the role of Maharawal Ratan Singh, while Ranveer Singh will be seen as Sultan Alauddin Khilji. The film is slated to hit the screens on December 1, 2017.
