Brahmastra Part One: Shiva was released in theaters on September 9, 2022, marking the first on-screen collaboration between Ranbir and Alia Bhatt. Recently, Ranbir Kapoor confirmed that Brahmastra 2 is definitely happening with Ayan Mukerji.
Ranbir Kapoor Gives A Hint On Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra 2
During a media meet-and-greet session in Mumbai on Thursday, the actor discussed the sequel to his 2022 blockbuster. He shared that Ayan Mukerji is currently focused on War 2. He will begin pre-production on Brahmastra 2 once the Hrithik Roshan film hits theaters. “Brahmastra 2 is something that Ayan has been nurturing as a dream for a very long time—the entire story of Brahmastra. As you guys know, he is currently working on War 2. Once the film releases, he is going to start the pre-production of Brahmastra 2”, Ranbir stated.
Ranbir further reassured fans that Brahmastra 2 is very much in the works. “It is definitely happening. We haven’t really announced much of it, but we will have interesting announcements coming regarding Brahmastra 2,” he shared.

Brahmastra Part One: Shiva was well-received, grossing close to Rs 400 crore at the box office. The film, directed by Ayan Mukerji, also featured Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy in significant roles, while Shah Rukh Khan made a special appearance.
In April 2023, Ayan Mukerji announced the release dates for Brahmastra Part Two: Dev and Brahmastra Part Three. The second installment is set to premiere in December 2026, followed by the third part in 2027. The filmmaker assured fans that both sequels will be “bigger” than the first, emphasizing that he will be working on the two films simultaneously. “After absorbing all the love and feedback on Part One, I have focused on creating the vision for Part Two and Part Three, which I now know will be more ambitious than Part One!” part of his statement read.
About Ranbir Kapoor’s Upcoming Projects
Ranbir is all set to appear in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, where he will portray Lord Ram. The film, produced by Namit Malhotra, will also feature Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The first installment is scheduled for release in 2026, with a sequel following in 2027. Additionally, Ranbir is working on the sequels to Animal, titled Animal Park, as well as Brahmastra parts 2 and 3.
