Former Indian skipper and current President of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly has recently confirmed that a biopic based on the chronicles of his life will be made in Bollywood while the film will be bankrolled by Luv Films. As the biopic on him has gotten everyone excited, fans started wondering who will be essaying the titular role. Well, it seems like actor Ranbir Kapoor is set to step in Dada’s shoes. In yesterday’s episode of Sourav Ganguly’s show Dadagiri season 9 (Bengali game show), he was asked who will play him in his biopic and his answer piqued our interest.

He said in Bengali, “Let’s see who is worthy. If Shah Rukh Khan wants to do it then will ask him not to do it, Hrithik (Roshan) will have to get into the shape of Sourav’s body but maybe Ranbir Kapoor will play the role.” He was also asked who will be playing his wife Dona Ganguly in the film. To which, Sourav simply said that several names have been considered but it will be decided later. Interestingly, there have been reports suggesting that the Sanju actor might be playing Dada in the film. Besides, rumours are rife that Vicky Kaushal and Sidharth Malhotra are also in the race to bag the role. Now, that Ganguly himself mentioned Ranbir’s name in the show, we wonder if he is the one for the role. Nevertheless, if Ranbir Kapoor essays the role of Sourav Ganguly in the biopic, we are certain, the actor will do justice.
