Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal and Vicky Kaushal’s film Sam Bahadur released in the theatres on Friday (Dec 1). Both Animal and Sam Bahadur opened on a good note at the box office. Ranbir as Ranvijay Singh and Vicky Kaushal as Sam Manekshaw have delivered good performances in their respective films. As the movies continue to win hearts, we came across a report that says Animal, as well as Sam Bahadur were first offered to Ranveer Singh. Yes, you read that right!

Ranveer Singh rejected Animal and Sam Bahadur

According to Zoom, Ranveer turned down roles in Animal and Sam Bahadur. Why, you ask? Ranveer Singh rejected the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial Animal because he found the theme too dark for his PG13 fans. In Animal, Ranbir plays Ranvijay Singh who can go to extreme lengths to deal with people who comes in the way of his love for his father (Balbir Singh) played by Anil Kapoor. Ranbir as Ranvijay is winning hearts. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Bobby Deol.

On the other hand, Sandeep Reddy Vanga recently revealed Ranveer rejected his movie Kabir Singh.

Talking about Sam Bahadur, Ranveer rejected the role of Sam Manekshaw as he was committed to 83’ which was based on the life and journey of former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev. The actor wanted to avoid back to back biopics. For the uninitiated, Deepika Padukone also rejected the film. The actress was offered the role of Silloo Manekshaw. She turned down the role due to prior work commitments.

Sam Bahadur stars Vicky Kaushal, Sanya Malhotra, and Fatima Sana Shaikh. Vicky has stepped into the shoes of India’s first Field Marshsal Sam Manekshaw, Sanya plays his wife Silloo, and Fatima plays the role of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

When it comes to the day 1 domestic box office collection, Sam Bahadur collected over Rs 6 crores and Animal earned over Rs 54.75 crores.
