Ranveer Singh in Padmavati

Actor Ranveer Singh who recently appeared on Karan Johar’s talk show ‘Koffee With Karan 5’ with his contemporary Ranbir Kapoor, revealed some hilarious stuff, but still didn’t speak much of his character in his upcoming movie ‘Padmavati’ except for the fact that he is totally in that zone of the movie.

Now, he has revealed something interesting about his role in the period drama to an entertainment web portal. The actor who essays the role of Alauddin Khilji in the movie has shifted base to a new apartment in Goregoan, closer to Film City to cut down on the travelling time. He said, “This is where all the real work happens. I am completely cut off (from the outside world) when I am in my den. I am so high up over here (in the building) that there’s no mobile signal at all. So, even if I want to, I can’t be on the radar (laughs). In fact, I have designed this place like my workshop, and this is where I do all my creative work. And it’s a process that really helps me. It works very well for me as an actor. So, you can say that this is where all the action really happens.”

He further spoke about his role in ‘Padmavati’, and said that this has been one of the toughest roles of his career so far. Said Ranveer, “It’s completely out of my comfort zone. It’s a negative character. And to make such maverick decisions at this stage (of my career) is a huge risk. But I have to keep my creativity alive. I have always maintained that something is worth doing only if it thoroughly scares you (laughs).”

‘Padmavati’ is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and also stars Deepika Padukone in the titular role of Rani Padmavati and Shahid Kapoor as Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. The movie will be releasing on November 17, 2017.
