Release date of ‘padman’ announced, and we can’t wait for the film

Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘padman’ is surely one of the most awaited films of the actor. The movie is based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham who had invented inexpensive machines to make sanitary napkins. Reportedly, the film was supposed to hit the screens during Republic Day weekend next year. However, now the makers have officially announced the release date with a new poster of the film.

Twinkle Khanna, who turns a producer with the movie, tweeted the poster. She wrote, “Pad-up and get ready for MrsFunnybones Movies and R. Balki’s Padman -April 13,2018 @akshaykumar @radhika_apte @sonamakapoor @kriarj.”

‘padman’ also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in the lead roles. There was a whole novella of many chapters about Arunachalam Muruganantham in Twinkle’s book ‘The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad’, and we are sure that people who have read the book will be more keen to see the movie.

Earlier when the shooting of the film was going on, Twinkle Khanna had stated that it will bring awareness for people. The actress-turned-writer-turned-producer said, “It (shoot) is going very well. Mr Muruganantham was also there. It’s a wonderful project. It will bring awareness about something which has so far been cloaked and shamed, and I am very happy to be a part of the film.”

However, not all the news that was doing rounds about the movie was all happy and funny. Few days ago, a leading web portal had stated that Sonam Kapoor plays the other woman in the life of the character played by Akshay Kumar in the film. Well, the actress had lashed out the website for reporting such news. She had tweeted, “Seriously guys.. ??‍♂️ is this the way you guys write headlines? Ridiculous and disgusting way to speak about films.”

Let’s wait for the movie to hit the screens, now. Akshay surely is on a spree to break the taboos of the society with his choice of movies, be it ‘padman’ or be it ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’.
