Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani: Birthday Boy Ranveer Singh announces his first film with Karan Johar costarring Alia Bhatt

After five years, Karan Johar is getting back to doing what he loves the most i.e directing. After Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, that released in 2016, KJo will be donning the director’s hat for Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani which stars the one and only Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. Yes, the Gully Boy jodi is reuniting to recreate their magic on the silver screen.

Karan made the special announcement about his next directorial on Ranveer Singh’s 36th birthday and there by made the actor’s day all the more special. Ranveer Singh also expressed his happiness over collaborating with visionary Karan Johar.

Though after Ae Dil Hai Muskil, Karan directed segments in two anthologies Lust Stories and Ghost Stories. However, Ranveer and Alia starrer Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will mark the filmmaker’s return to directing a full fledged feature film.

Announcing his next film’s title and cast, Karan Johar tweeted, “Thrilled to get behind the lens with my favourite people in front of it! Presenting Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, headlined by none other than Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt and written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan & Sumit Roy.This anokhi kahani is coming to your screens in 2022! #RockyAurRaniKiPremKahani #RRKPK(sic).”

Sharing his excitement for his first ever collaboration with Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh posted, “A special announcement on my special day!
