Mismatched actor Rohit Saraf’s journey in the industry has not been easy. He started off at the age of 15 leaving behind his studies but he knew what he was doing as he followed his passion. There was a bumpy ride initially as his first film got shelved and there was a time when he battled depression. But he didn’t lose hope and got Dear Zindagi. He never looked back and then appeared in The Sky is Pink, Ludo, Mismatched and now he is gearing up for the release of Netflix’s Feels like Ishq.

In a candid conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Rohit opened up about his career lows, depression, and the time he faced misconduct in the industry. He said, “I think misconduct is not just physical, it can be verbal and that happened many times. Earlier, I didn’t want to deal with it, I would just distance myself. Now, I call it out. Misconduct even means disrespect. I mean disrespect can also be in the same category as misconduct and that happened on the set of something that was I was a part of. I ensured that I call it out because over these years, you also know what’s fundamentally right or not and I am very glad I have had the people around me to reiterate that in my head again and again. And I am very sure of what’s right and what’s not anymore in my life when it comes to people behaving in a certain way with me, I always ensure I call it out if I am uncomfortable and feel that that’s not correct”.

He added, “There have been times when people have answered back and the moment you call it out, it dies down immediately. There have been times when people have started yelling. I tell them it’s pointless and I don’t want to engage with them anymore and hence I am going to walk out and they can keep yelling if they like. That’s what I do.”

When asked if anybody has made a wrong move on him, Rohit said it has happened but he never encouraged it or tolerated it because he comes from a family where he is taught that no matter what happens, dignity ad self-respect is bigger than anything. “I am ok with losing on a project or you don’t give me movies for the rest of my life, but I will not do something that’s morally or ethically wrong,” concluded Rohit.
