Recently, during a conversation with SCREEN, Shashwat Sachdev was asked whether he expects either Article 370 or the Dhurandhar franchise to receive National Awards recognition. Responding to the question. Shashwat said, “Awards are wonderful because they acknowledge the work, but they can never be the reason for doing it. Article 370 was a project I cared deeply about, and I am grateful for the love it received. The same is true for Dhurandhar.”

Both projects share another common link. Filmmaker Aditya Dhar backed Article 370 and the Dhurandhar franchise, both of which relied heavily on strong music and emotionally driven background scores to elevate their storytelling. The composer further added, “My focus has always been on creating work that remains meaningful long after the release date. If recognition follows, I am thankful. If not, the work itself still has value. I am simply grateful that audiences have embraced the music, and I hope I can continue creating for the right reasons for many years to come.”

For Shashwat, Article 370 became a major turning point. The political thriller, headlined by Yami Gautam, emerged as one of the surprise commercial and critical successes of 2024. Along with the film’s performances and political narrative, Shashwat’s intense background score also became one of its biggest highlights.
