Ronit Roy

Actor Ronit Roy, who plays a drunkard father in the recently released “2 States”, says if it weren’t for producer Karan Johar’s conviction, he may have not even done the movie.

Ronit, who features in a key “special appearance” in the film, has been getting praise galore for his performance as Krrish’s (Arjun Kapoor) father.

“And to think I almost didn’t do ‘2 States’! It’s all Karan Johar’s conviction I went with. Credit goes to him,” Ronit posted on his Twitter page.

“I’m overwhelmed by all the appreciation you have showered on me for my performance and the film ‘2 States’. Thank you sooooo much. Wow! What a tremendous reaction to me in ‘2 States’. Never would have thought. Can’t thank you guys enough,” he added.

The actor, who has had a successful transition from the small to the big screen, also featured in Johar’s “Student Of The Year”.

“2 States”, co-produced by Johar’s Dharma Productions and Sajid Nadiadwala’s banner, is directed by Abhishek Varman. Starring Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor, the movie tells the love story of a couple belonging to two different states.
