Sabbir Khan, Arbaaz Khan

Just yesterday, reports of filmmaker Sabbir Khan being approached to direct and write the third instalment of ‘Dabangg’ surfaced online. The first part which came in 2010 was helmed by Anurag Kashyap, followed by the second part two years later, which was directed by Arbaaz Khan who was the producer of the movie as well. As for the third part, Arbaaz Khan had announced that he would be only producing the movie and ever since, the Khan brothers have been searching for writers and directors for the third part. So yesterday, Sabbir Khan spoke with Mumbai Mirror that he was one of the directors to have been chosen to work on the project and he will be coming on board as the writer-director for the movie. He had said, “Yes, I’ve started working on a plan for ‘Dabangg 3’ but I can’t say anything until the paperwork is finalised. I am in talks and am really happy that I was one of directors selected to work on the final script.” He further added, “I plan to catch up on my reading. Travelling makes me write better. I’m hoping to return with an entertaining plot for Chulbul Pandey.”

But it seems that this is not the truth. Producer Arbaaz Khan has now tweeted expressing his displeasure over Sabbir Khan’s statement with the tabloid stating that he was approached to write and direct the movie. Arbaaz tweeted, “Sabbir Khan was never approached to direct or write ‘Dabangg 3’. His statement in Mumbai Mirror is untrue and rubbish. Extremely disappointing.” Here’s his tweet:

Oh okay! What does Sabbir Khan have to say to this now?
