Apart from being a good actor, Saif Ali Khan is also intelligent. He recently said in an interview that Bollywood has been relying on the genre of male stalker. He took the name of Shah Rukh Khan who made his career by playing the role of a male stalker. For the unversed, SRK played a stalker and a mentally deranged in ‘Darr’. He played Rahul who was obsessed with Kiran (Juhi Chawla) and used to stalk her.

While talking about Bollywood films been made in this genre, Saif told Zoom, “Male stalker is almost the genre for Indian cinema and somehow it’s always been successful and Shah Rukh Khan made his career on it in the beginning.”

He said that this obsession of Bollywood has come from the West. “And I don’t know, it’s like a society thing, we have a tendency to give the audience what we feel they want and again, these characters must have trickled down from the West… they must have been because we copy a lot,” said Saif.

By this Saif is not wrong. Most of the movies we have seen have been copied from Hollywood and the latest example is Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer ‘War’. If not the story, but the action sequences and a few scenes seem to be copied from Hollywood movies like ‘Fast & Furious’, and ‘Mission Impossible’.

On the professional front, Saif Ali Khan will be seen in ‘Laal Kaptaan’. Also, he will be seen in ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’ and ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’.
