This morning, the heartbreaking news of veteran actor Nana Patekar’s death made the headline. The 75-year-old actor was declared dead at a private Goa hospital around 5:20am after doctors tied reviving his for 45 minutes. While the three-time National Award-winning actor’s final rites are currently underway, several Bollywood actors took to social media and posted heartfelt tributes for him. Shah Rukh Khan Mourns The Death Of Friend Nana Patekar

Salman Khan took to his Instagram Stories and posted about Nana Patekar’s death. He simply wrote, “Nanaaaaaaa Rest in peace bhau…”

Sharing a black-and-white picture of Nana Patekar and himself, Shah Rukh Khan penned a lengthy, emotional note. The Badshah of Bollywood began his caption by recalling their first meeting. King Khan wrote, “When I first met him, out of awe and awkwardness I fiddled with my hair. He slapped my hand away and said ‘hero ki tarah Baal mat bana…tu actor hai’!”

SRK continued, ” He didn’t flatter you; he didn’t tell you what you wanted to hear. He told you what you needed to hear. That was Nana. Straightforward. Rough, honest and had the most beautiful smile. He always had a strange way of showing affection. He would shout at you first, and then somewhere between the third or fourth insult, you realised you were being hugged.”

He was a mentor, a teacher, a critic and a friend who beat me and everyone else around him in carrom game after game and relished his victories.”

Shah Rukh Khan – putting his emotions into words, continued, “Nana your intensity, laughter , madness and love will always stay with us. I just wish we had time to have more conversations, another argument, another cup of tea and a game of carrom. You have left a void not only in the world of cinema but in the hearts of all Indians and the world. All I can say is, I will miss you dearly and carry your words in my heart till the end of time….’hero banne ke chakar mein actor mat khona’”

He ended his post by writing, “May your soul rest in peace Nana and Allah bless you. The Heavens will be blessed to have you… a masterful actor and an unbeatable carrom champion. Love you and miss you dearly!! Too soon my Hero Actor! RIP”

Ajay Devgn, Rohit Shetty Pay Heartfelt Tributes To Nana

Ajay Devgn also took to his Instagram handle and shared a note remembering Nana Patekar. The ‘Drishyam 3’ actor wrote, “Not many made us happy, sad and feel anger quite the way Nana did. His presence was powerful, his performances unforgettable, and his absence will now be deeply felt. Rest well, Nana…Om Shanti.”

Rohit Shetty too posted a lengthy personal note remembering the Late actor and how he helped him in his career. The filmmaker wrote, “Dear Dada, I will miss your late-night calls. No hello and no formalities but a straight, “Aye Shetty, kya kar raha hai?” And I would purposely reply “Kaun bol raha hai?”, to irritate you only to get a “Saale, Nana bol raha hoon!” After my release, you were one of my biggest and most honest critics. You never sugar-coated anything.”

The Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 host also wrote, “I will never forget when you did a cameo in Golmaal Again. I asked you, “Dada, aapki fees?”. And you looked at me and said, “Ch****ya, tujhse paise lunga? Ek anathashram ka number deta hoon, wahan donate kar de.” That was you Dada. Straight. Unfiltered. Generous. And always genuine. I will miss being called Shetty by you. WILL MISS YOU DADA”

Nana Patekar’s Career & Death

Nana Patekar passed early this morning in Goa. As per reports, the veteran actor was found unconscious at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa. He was then rushed to Manipal Hospital where doctors attempted to revive the actor for around 45 minutes but were unsuccessful. The actor was declared dead at around 5:20 am. Doctors citied cardiac arrest as the cause of death.

The National award-winning actor will be cremated with full state honours at his ancestral farmhouse in Donje, Pune, today evening. Before the final rites, his body will be kept at the farmhouse property for a brief period to allow family, close friends, film fraternity colleagues, and local villagers to pay their last respects.

Nana Patekar – who is know for playing both serious and comic roles, was last seen on the big screen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s 2026 romantic action thriller O’ Romeo. He also featured in Prakash Jha’s socio-political series Sankalp and made a cameo appearance in Subedaar. Some of Nana’s most prominent films include Parinda, Krantiveer, Agni Sakshi, Ab Tak Chhappan, Welcome, Apaharan, Taxi No 9211 and Raajneeti, among others.

He is the recipient of many aways, including three National Film Awards and two Maharashtra State Film Awards. He was conferred with the Padma Shri award in 2013 for his contribution in cinema and arts.
