The funeral of legendary actor Manoj Kumar took place on Saturday afternoon at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai, with several notable figures from the film industry in attendance. Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek Bachchan were among the many celebrities who paid their respects to the late star, who passed away on Friday at the age of 87. Salim Khan and his son Arbaaz Khan also visited the crematorium.

As the funeral proceedings began, Amitabh and Abhishek were seen sitting with other friends and loved ones of Manoj Kumar, watching as his mortal remains were covered in the Indian Tricolour and policemen offered their salutes. The priest performed a final ritual, and Manoj’s body was then taken away for cremation. Other attendees included Prem Chopra and Salim Khan, who was accompanied by his son Arbaaz Khan.

The Khan family joined other celebrities in offering condolences to Manoj Kumar’s grieving family. During the funeral ceremony, Amitabh Bachchan and Salim Khan met and greeted each other, with Bachchan helping Khan to exit the event.

The two have a long history of collaboration, with Khan’s screenwriting partnership with Javed Akhtar resulting in several iconic films starring Bachchan, including “Deewar” and “Sholay”.

On Friday, several Bollywood personalities, such as Prem Chopra and Zayed Khan, visited Manoj Kumar’s residence to offer their condolences.

A younger photograph of Kumar was displayed outside his residence, allowing fans and visitors to pay their final tribute before the funeral. As a mark of respect, a photograph of a young Manoj Kumar was placed at the entrance of his building premises, allowing everyone to pay their last respects. An ambulance carrying his mortal remains, decorated with tri-colour flowers, left his residence at 10:30 am and made its way to the crematorium.
