Salman Khan wants Rajkumar Santoshi’s film to be massy, suggests changes

After tasting grand success with his recent release ‘Sultan’, actor Salman Khan is now gearing up for his forthcoming projects which are to release in 2017. Apart from teaming up with his ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ director Kabir Khan again during the Eid, Salman will be reuniting with Rajkumar Santoshi, who had directed him and Aamir Khan together in cult comic caper ‘Andaz Apna Apna’. According to the reports, Salman has given his fair share of creative inputs while the script was being prepared, and has asked for a few more changes to make it more appealable to the masses.

Sources say, “The final script is yet to be locked and discussion between the actor and filmmaker is still on. It is a cute love story, and Salman was enthused by it. However, he has requested Santoshi to tweak it a bit. Once these changes are accommodated, the team will begin pre-production.”

However, when Mr. Santoshi was contacted by a daily, he neither confirmed nor denied this story. “Salman has certain expectations from the film since we have done some good movies in the past and are going to work together again after long. I am aware of the audience’s anticipation too,” he said.

Further, rumours were heard that it would be a remake of the 2014 Korean film, ‘Ode to My Father’. Dismissing this buzz as well, Santoshi clarified to this daily saying, “I am not a remake person. I have not done it earlier and won’t in future. It is an original script, but not run-of-the-mill, and will challenge Salman as an actor. In a month, we will discuss the script and lock it. Post that, we will begin casting. Salman and Atul Agnihotri will produce the film.”

Though Salman Khan has done two delightful cameos in Santoshi’s recent ventures, ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ and ‘Phata Poster Nikhla Hero’, this would be his first full length feature film with the director, 22 years after ‘Andaz Apna Apna’.

The casting has not been finalized yet, and it would be quite interesting to watch as to which actress would be cast alongside Khan, for the movie.
