Saswata Chatterjee who played Mr. Basu, Kizie’s (Sanjana Sanghi) father in ‘Dil Bechara’ has been getting rave reviews for his character. In an interview with us, Saswata got candid while speaking about ‘Dil Bechara’, Sushant Singh Rajput and Mukesh Chhabra.

On Sushant, Saswata said that he still can’t believe that the actor is no more. “Till date, I can’t believe that Sushant is no more and I don’t want to believe. While I was watching the film, I knew the film, story, everything. When I completed watching the film, suddenly that feeling came, ‘Is it real that Sushant is no more?’ When I see him more in news, I remember his smiling face,” he said.

Saswata said that while shooting the film or after the shoot, he had a great time with the team. He said, “All the memories were good. It was like a family get-together. The bonding with the whole team was great and it showed on the screen. When you see the picture, you will see we were not actually acting. I loved that unit and the film.”

When asked how he knew that the film would turn out to be so good, the actor said, “I could guess from Mukesh’s (Chhabra) expressions. He was very happy after each scene and it showed on his face. He was always fresh and smiling all the time and that shows that we were on the right path but I didn’t expect this much. When I watched the film I was mesmerised. I was amazed at how the film came out and can’t believe this was his first film. He knew what we should do and what we shouldn’t. He was clear in his mind.”
