Newlywed Shibani Dandekar erases ‘Mrs Akhtar’ from IG bio, days after wedding with Farhan Akhtar

Shibani Dandekar and Farhan Akhtar got married in an intimate wedding ceremony, last month. The couple exchanged vows on February 19, in the presence of close friends and family members. After the wedding nuptials, Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar came back home, to Mumbai. In the city, the couple had a civil wedding. They gathered at Zoya Akhtar’s residence in Mumbai and completed the formalities. Shibani had then taken to her Instagram to change her name. Keeping the Indian tradition alive, Dandekar took her husband’s last name ‘Akhtar’ after her birth name.

Shibani changed her Instagram account name to ‘Shibani Dandekar-Akhtar’. Not only that, but the actress also added ‘Mrs Akhtar (heart icon)’ to her Instagram bio. However, Dandekar has now removed ‘Mrs Akhtar’ from her Instagram bio, but continues to keep ‘Akhtar’ in her last name.

For the unversed, Shibani Dandekar had made it to the headlines when netizens speculated she is pregnant. Looking at her bloated belly in the first wedding photos, many speculated that she is expecting. However, Shibani finally busted pregnancy rumours with an apt clarification. The actress posted a mirror selfie, showing off her well-toned abs. She shared the photo and mentioned she is ‘not pregnant’.

Meanwhile, Farhan and Shibani got married at Javed Akhtar’s Khandala Farmhouse. The couple’s wedding function was attended by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farah Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Rakesh and Pinky Roshan, Rhea Chakraborty, Shankar Mahadevan and his wife, Ehsaan Noorani, Ashutosh Gowariker, Amrita Arora, and many others.

Later, Ritesh Sidhwani had hosted a bash for the newlyweds. The post-wedding party saw Aryan Khan, Suhana Khan, Gauri Khan, Malaika Arora, Kareena Kapoor, Amrita Arora, Karisma Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ananya Kapoor, Chunky Panday and Bhavna Panday, Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep, and many other celebrities.
