After his transformative performances in films like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Toofaan, Farhan Akhtar is now gearing up for another challenging role in the RD Burman biopic. Reports suggest that the actor-filmmaker is in advanced talks with filmmaker Neeraj Pandey for a biopic on legendary music composer, fondly known as Pancham Da.
Farhan Akhtar To Lead RD Burman Biopic By Neeraj Pandey
According to sources, the film is envisioned as a grand tribute to one of India’s most celebrated musicians. “Neeraj Pandey has been developing the RD Burman biopic for a while now, and the writing work is progressing at a rapid pace. Farhan Akhtar is in talks to play the legendary composer and is extremely excited about the prospect of bringing Pancham Da’s journey to the big screen. If all goes according to plan, he will undergo extensive preparation to get into the skin of the character,” reveals a source to Pinkvilla.
The makers have also managed to secure the rights to several iconic RD Burman songs. These are expected to play a crucial role in the narrative. “The team has secured rights to the classic RD Burman tracks that defined an era. The idea is to create an authentic and emotionally rich homage to the genius of Pancham Da. Music sittings have already begun to bring the best versions of the original songs,” the source adds.
