The year 2018 has been a great one for B-town’s livewire actor Ranveer Singh. The actor left everyone spellbound with his gripping performance as Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Padmaavat’ (that released in January this year).

The film also starred Ranveer’s sweetheart Deepika Padukone in the lead role. Prior to the release of the film, it had created a lot of controversies. However, the film went on to rake in all the moolah at the box office. The film minted Rs 19 crore approx. on its first day.

After starting the year on a high note, Ranveer has ended it with a bang as his latest film ‘Simmba‘ hit the theatres yesterday. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the masala entertainer has earned Rupees 20.72 crore on its opening day! That means the first-day collections of ‘Simmba’ has left behind even ‘Padmaavat’.

Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the opening day figures of Ranveer Singh’s cop drama ‘Simmba’. You can check out his post below:

With ‘Simmba’ becoming his highest opening film, Ranveer Singh must certainly be on cloud nine. Also, this is great news for Sara Ali Khan as well as ‘Simmba’ is just her second film in Bollywood.

Also starring Sonu Sood and Ashutosh Rana, ‘Simmba’ has a special appearance by Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar. Reportedly, ‘Simmba’ is a spin-off of Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham’ franchise.
