Sonam Kapoor’s baby shower called off due to THIS reason?

Sonam Kapoor is ready to welcome her first bundle of joy with her husband Anand Ahuja. The actress was recently spotted in Mumbai, where she returned for her baby shower. The event was reported to be hosted by grandparents-to-be, Anil and Sunita Kapoor. Invites for her baby shower were sent to their friends and the event was scheduled for July 17. But reportedly the baby shower has been called off.

Sonam Kapoor’s baby shower that was to be held at Kavita Singh’s home in Bandstand, Mumbai has been called off due to Covid-related issues.

As reported by sources to ETimes, The Kapoor family was looking forward to the baby shower and had been preparing for it for a while now. Customised hampers had been sent out to various guests invited to the do, to be held at Kavita Singh’s bungalow Rockdale in Bandra. However concerns about COVID surfaced and the family decided to call off the event to avoid any health issues, especially for the mother-to-be and her baby.

Sources further added that Sonam’s BFF and fashion designer Masaba Gupta designed the boho-themed baby shower for the couple. Celebrities from Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Rani Mukerji. Sonam’s cousins Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, and Mohit Marwah were to join the celebration.

Sonam and Anand tied the knot in May 2018. They announced their pregnancy in March 2022. The couple had earlier hosted a baby shower in London. It had a customised menu, napkins, and gifts for every guest. Pictures from the event had created a buzz on social media.
