Sunjay Kapur Property Battle: Priya Sachdev Kapur Challenges Karisma Kapoor’s Kids Amid Rs 30,000 Cr Will Dispute; Lawyer Labels Their Ground ‘Bogus’

Priya Sachdev Kapur has responded firmly to Karisma Kapoor’s kids’ challenge to the late Sunjay Kapur’s Rs 30,000 crore will, dismissing their claims as “bogus” and questioning their motives. Sunjay Kapur was a prominent industrialist and the former husband of Karisma Kapoor. He passed away at 53 due to a massive heart attack while playing polo in the UK. Reports suggest he suffered a heart attack after swallowing a bee, which caused a throat sting.

Priya Sachdev Kapur Questions Karisma Kapoor’s Kids Amid Inheritance Controversy

Amid ongoing disputes over Sunjay’s estate and property, Priya’s legal team has criticised the children’s contesting of the will. Rajiv Nayar, Priya’s lawyer, stated that Karisma’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, have no valid grounds to challenge the will, calling their claims “non-existent.” During the court hearing, Nayar emphasised that the will, dated March 21, 2025, had been properly disclosed and read to all involved parties on July 30, and that there was no dispute over Sunjay’s signature.

Nayar explained, “The only valid reasons to contest a will are if the deceased was not of sound mind, was coerced, or incapable of executing it—none of which apply here.” He further added that the challenge was baseless, asserting that the children’s petition was “bogus” and that all legal formalities had been followed.

The petition also alleges that Priya has received 60% of Sunjay’s assets, with an additional 12% allocated to her son, and 75% of a trust in her favour. Recently, the children’s legal team referred to Priya as a “Cinderella stepmother,” accusing her of greed and manipulation.
