Earlier, Jason used the letter ‘V,’ symbolising his father Vijay, before his name. However, recent reports suggest that he has now changed it to ‘S,’ believed to denote his mother Sangeetha Sornalingam. The change has sparked considerable discussion among fans, with many viewing it as a possible indication of tension in the father-son relationship.

According to reports by Tamil Filmibeat, Vijay Thalapathy is keen to resolve the divorce proceedings swiftly and does not wish to prolong the matter. The actor is reportedly aiming for a mutual settlement. Vijay is said to have held several discussions with his wife regarding the same. Reports further suggest that Vijay has proposed an alimony amount of around ₹250 crore as part of the settlement. The sum is said to be intended for his wife, Sangeetha, and their two children, Jason Sanjay, and Divya Sasha. However, details about how the amount would be divided remain unclear.

Why Did Sangeetha Sornalingam File For A Divorce?

In her divorce petition, Sangeetha has alleged that Vijay was involved in an extramarital relationship with an actress. She claimed that he often accompanied the actress on foreign trips and public appearances. The actress also frequently shared his pictures on social media. According to Sangeetha, these actions caused significant distress and embarrassment to her and their children. She further stated that she first became aware of the alleged relationship in 2021. Despite Vijay’s repeated assurances, she claimed the situation did not change, which ultimately led her to seek a divorce after 27 years of marriage.
