Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2 faces the boycott wrath
Recently, Zee News reported that the people of Gurdaspur are calling for a boycott of the film. Wondering why? Let me clarify from the outset that it’s not due to any controversial scenes, religious sentiments, or disrespectful behaviour towards the nation.
During Sunny Deol’s recent visit to Amritsar for the promotion of Gadar 2, he also visited the Sri Darbar Sahib. However, local residents and people are disappointed that he didn’t extend his visit to Gurdaspur, which is just 30 km away from Amritsar. For those who might not know, Gurdaspur falls under the Lok Sabha constituency represented by Sunny Deol. The local people are disappointed that he didn’t take the time to visit their area at least. Now, people have taken it to the street, and an online campaign on social media has started. Internet is blowing up with boycott Gadar 2 posters.
In addition, the protesters have appealed to the central government to enact a law that would revoke a celebrity’s political membership if they decide to enter politics.
On the other hand, we are waiting for Sunny Deol to react to this following incident. As of now, the effect is only till Punjab. Fans all over other cities are excited to see the magic of Gadar 2 on-screen.
Directed by Anil Sharma, the movie also stars Utkarsh Sharma as Sunny and Ameesha’s on-screen son. It is the sequel to the 2001 film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Gadar 2 is set to be released in theatres worldwide on 11 August.
