Almost two months post Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, the Supreme Court has finally ordered a CBI probe into his case. Sushant’s family and fans welcomed the Apex Court decision as they all were eagerly waiting for a fair investigation.

Earlier today while hearing Rhea Chakraborty’s petition seeking transfer of investigation from Bihar to Mumbai police, the SC court ordered a CBI probe and asked the Maharashtra government to comply with its orders.

According to a News18 report,  the SC has even asked Mumbai police to hand over all the pieces of evidence they have collected in Sushant’s case so far to the CBI. Justice Hrishikesh Roy even stated that the Maharashtra government cannot challenge its order and that the FIR filed against Rhea Chakraborty in Patna by Sushant’s father KK Singh was not unconstitutional.

Whereas Mumbai Police Commissioner, Parambir Singh reacting to SC’s verdict told ANI, “Once we get the order copy, we will examine it and decide further course of action. We have spoken to our advocates in the Supreme Court to send us the order copy.”

Commenting on Rhea, the Apex court said, “It will be the desired justice as she herself called for a CBI investigation. The dissemination of the real facts through unbiased investigation would certainly result in justice for the innocents, who might be the target of vilification campaign.”

Reacting on the Supreme Court’s verdict, Sushant’s family lawyer told ANI, “This is a victory for Sushant Singh Rajput’s family. SC ruled on all points in our favour. The Court also clearly said that the FIR registered at Patna was correct.”
