Post Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, celebrated filmmaker Shekhar Kapur had said that he knew about the late actor’s pain. The filmmaker had even shared how some people let Sushant down so badly that he would weep on his shoulders.

Now the latest reports state that Kapur has sent his statement in connection with Sushant’s suicide to Mumbai Police via email. The reports also state that the director might be summoned by the Police to record his statement in person as well.

A day after Sushant’s death, Shekhar had tweeted, “I knew the pain you were going through. I knew the story of the people that let you down so bad that you would weep on my shoulder. I wish I was around the last 6 months. I wish you had reached out to me. What happened to you was their Karma. Not yours. #SushantSinghRajput(sic).”

Now as per a report in Mid-Day, Kapur has mailed his statement based on the above tweet that he had shared. Speaking about the director’s statement, a senior IPS officer was quoted saying in Mid-Day as, “We have summoned Kapur to come and record his statement based on the tweet he shared a day after the actor’s suicide. He had sent some details via email which we are considering but we need more clarity on it. His detailed statement will be recorded soon once he comes back to the city.”

The same report also states that Kangana Ranaut’s statement will also be recorded as even she had shared a video claiming she knew about the problems faced by Sushant.
