Ranveer Singh has remained at the centre of discussions surrounding his reported exit from Don 3. The controversy intensified after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) stepped into the matter following complaints from Farhan Akhtar and Excel Entertainment. Amid the ongoing chatter, comedian Tanmay Bhat appeared to take a sly dig at the actor during a recent YouTube video featuring Varun Dhawan.
Tanmay Bhat Takes A Sly Dig At Ranveer Singh’s Don 3 Controversy
Varun recently appeared on Tanmay Bhat’s YouTube channel alongside comedians Rohan Joshi, Piyush Sharma and Zakir Khan. During one segment of the conversation, Tanmay jokingly praised Varun’s professionalism before seemingly referencing the ongoing Don 3 controversy. He said, “Varun, anyone who has ever worked with you has always said that despite being a big Bollywood star, you’re still like professional, committed, reliable. Which is incidentally, exactly the kind of actor that Farhan Akhtar is looking for right now. I don’t know, maybe you should…”

Everyone in the industry is aware that Ranveer Singh is not professionally committed or reliable. He leaned on Farhan Akhtar when he was delivering flops and then ditched him after Dhurandhar’s success. Even Varun Dhawan was laughing. https://t.co/x1dWynMsLG pic.twitter.com/RVGaYFRalQ
The remark immediately left the room in splits. As everyone burst into laughter, the comedians continued building on the joke. One of them quipped, “Don No. 1,” while another added, “Main tera Don.” Varun also joined in on the banter and laughed at the jokes, repeating, “Main tera Don.”
The clip quickly began circulating across social media platforms, with many viewers speculating that Tanmay’s joke was a subtle swipe at Ranveer Singh’s reported fallout with Farhan Akhtar and Excel Entertainment.
About Don 3 Controversy
The controversy around Don 3 escalated in recent weeks after reports claimed that Ranveer Singh had abruptly exited the project. FWICE later issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor before eventually revoking it last week.
According to reports, Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani approached FWICE and alleged that Ranveer’s reported exit from the film caused financial losses to the production. Reports also claimed that the alleged losses amounted to nearly Rs 45 crore.
Back in 2023, the makers officially announced Ranveer Singh as the lead of Don 3, after Shah Rukh Khan headlined Don (2006) and Don 2 (2011). However, reports of tension between the actor and the makers surfaced in late 2025 after the success of Ranveer’s Dhurandhar with filmmaker Aditya Dhar.
On the work front, Ranveer Singh is currently riding high on the success of Dhurandhar. Varun Dhawan, meanwhile, is enjoying the box office success of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.
