‘Tara Singh’ Sunny Deol, ‘Sakina’ Ameesha Patel Reunite To Mark 25 Years Of Gadar; Director Anil Sharma Hints Gadar 3 Will Be ‘Nuclear Bomb’

The team behind the blockbuster ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ gathered on Monday night to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the film’s release. The lead stars, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, along with director Anil Sharma, attended the milestone event. They reflected on the enduring legacy of the film, which remains one of the most successful and beloved titles in Hindi cinema.

Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel Reunite To Mark 25 Years Of Gadar

For the celebration, Sunny arrived in a casual shirt and jeans, while Ameesha opted for a stunning golden lehenga. The duo posed together for photos and were also joined by their team for a few pictures. To mark the occasion, Sunny Deol cut a customised chocolate cake as the Gadar team cheered him on.

During a media interaction at the event, ‘Gadar’ director Anil Sharma was asked about the possibility of a third instalment in the franchise. He said, “The 1st part was a bomb, the 2nd part was an atom bomb, the 3rd part will be a nuclear bomb. The day I get that nuclear bomb, I’ll ask these people to detonate.” In an interview, the director shared that he is currently working on the script for the new film. He plans to begin shooting in 2027.

About Gadar, Gadar 2

Set against the backdrop of the Partition of India in 1947, ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ told the story of Tara Singh. He was a Sikh truck driver played by Sunny Deol. He falls in love and marries Sakina, played by Ameesha Patel. Their lives are turned upside down when Sakina is taken back to Pakistan by her family. This prompts Tara’s perilous journey across the border to reunite with her.

Beyond its memorable performances, ‘Gadar’ was also celebrated for its chart-topping soundtrack composed by Uttam Singh. Meanwhile, the ‘Gadar’ sequel, released in 2023, reunited Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma. Sharma reprised his role from the original. The sequel went on to become the highest-earning film of the year.
