Vidya Balan in Tumhari Sulu movie

Vidya Balan’s ‘Tumhari Sulu’ has already generated a lot of curiosity among the fans and moviegoers. Be it the trailer that exudes feel-good vibes, or the songs that make you groove to the tunes and hum along, everything has taken the expectations from the film to another level. If we have a look at the films that have released in the last few years, content-driven films have received much love at the box office. And certainly, Vidya’s ‘Tumhari Sulu’ is one such project that has been made with the same ethos and sentiment, with compelling, engaging content on a tight budget.

After having a look at the trailer and songs, there’s no doubt that Vidya’s character Sulu has easily found a connect among the audiences especially the housewives across the nation. The film’s budget which is to be Rs 17 crore, including prints and advertising has already been extensively monetised by way of pre-licensing of international, music, digital and satellite rights, and in-film brand associations, making the break-even requirement from the domestic box office very low. (Also Check: ‘Tumhari Sulu’ screening turns extra special with Rekha’s presence among others)

An official statement has been issued by the producers T-Series and Ellipsis Entertainment which reads, “It is as crucial to make a good film as it is to make it at a good price. Content and economics need to go hand-in-hand and ‘Tumhari Sulu’ is a shining example of that.”

Directed by Suresh Triveni, ‘Tumhari Sulu’ also stars Manav Kaul, Neha Dhupia and RJ Malishka playing pivotal roles and is slated to hit the screens on November 17.
