Varun Dhawan is a force to reckon with when it comes to setting the cash registers ringing at the box office. The ‘Judwaa 2’ actor has an enviable track record at the box office. Unfortunately his last film, ‘Kalank’ failed to live up to everyone’s expectations.

The Abhishek Varman film boasted an ensemble cast of Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha. Despite a stellar star cast and commendable production values, the film couldn’t deliver the expected numbers.

Varun celebrated his 32nd birthday on 24th of this month. But going by the reaction his film received, the actor was feeling low. However, his friends made sure that he didn’t keep on thinking about his film’s fate. Giving a sneak-peek into how his friends made his birthday special, Varun shared a video on YouTube in which he also opened about the ‘Kalank’s failure.

In the video, the 32-year-old actor is heard saying, “Calling my 32nd birthday. But I am going to tell you how it all went down. I was a little down because my latest release did not go the way I thought it would and it did hit me a little hard, I will be very honest. I didn’t know how to react to it. A lot of people told me, “don’t show it.” I don’t know how to behave like that. Failures are a part of life. My friends though had my back. [They] told me “pack your bags.” I said, “Where are we going to go and do?” They said, “Muay Thai.” So the 1:25 flight on GoAir, we flew and the rest you can watch.”

Well, that shows how friends are the best gift we can have. And we are pretty sure Varun will bounce back with his next film.
