Zakir Hussain Recalls Hilarious BTS Moment With Saif Ali Khan On Ek Hasina Thi Sets; Shares, “He Gave His New Chaddi To Me”

At the trailer preview event of their upcoming film Kartavya, Saif Ali Khan and Zakir Hussain looked back at their long association in the industry and shared a hilarious behind-the-scenes story from the sets of Ek Hasina Thi. Zakir Hussain Shares Fun BTS From Ek Hasina Thi Sets

Zakir Hussain and Saif Ali Khan have shared screen space on several occasions over the years, including films like Ek Hasina Thi and Agent Vinod. The duo was also recently seen together in the series Glory. When asked about his experience of working with Zakir Hussain, Saif Ali Khan said, “Zakir sir, I think, gave his first shot in cinema with me.”

To this, Zakir Hussain added, “Ek Hasina Thi was my first film. Usmein kya tha ki scene karna tha aur woh (Saif Ali Khan) us din available nahi the. Urmila (Matondkar) thi. Later part of the film jismein woh mil ke chale jaate hai, aur woh aake (Urmila Matondkar) maar ke chali jaati hai toh wala part shoot kar liya tha. Usmein costume tha jaise ki gym se aaya hai ya kuch khel ke aaya hai. And I’m counting money. Uske ek hafte baad jab Saif aaye toh main costume pehen ke baitha hu kyunki second half mein toh mar jayega na goli lagegi toh. Toh maine kaha ‘yaar, what is this? Yeh villain lag hi nahi Raha hai.’ If it is an English film, it must be a fu*king woman talking to me. So kya karein?”

Zakir Hussain Reveals Saif Ali Khan Lent Him His Underwear

Zakir continued, “Toh, he said ki kapde utarwa denge. Shri Ram Raghavan ne meri tarah dekha toh maine kaha ‘Mujhe kapde utarna mein sharm nahi hai. Par later half mein kapde pehnne hain uska kya karu main?’ Toh, he asked me ki, ‘You have got a chaddi?’ Maine kaha, ‘Haan, hai toh sahi.’ Toh, he gave his new chaddi to me. Woh pehenke maine shot diya tha. Toh jab woh shot hogaya, aur yeh chale gaye, toh baad mein yeh baat uthi ki woh kaise continue karein? Toh hua yeh ki maine idea diya ki aap camera inpe rakho main jaake change karke aata hu.”

The Sarkar actor concluded, “Toh saara ka saara scene joh hai woh mera off-camera hai. Dialogues ho rahe hai, but the camera was on him. Fir main pehen ke aata hu aur ek line milti hai mujhe ki ‘Mere paise kab lautayega? 15 ya 30?’ And from that close up, I got attention from Ram Gopal Varma and baaki history hai.”
