Laal Singh Chaddha Vs Raksha Bandhan box office: Aamir Khan’s movie earns more than Akshay Kumar starrer on day 3

During the Raksha Bandhan festival, Bollywood’s two mega films Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan clashed at the box office. While it was Aamir Khan vs Akshay Kumar, the film is currently showing a low performance at the box office. Nevertheless, whenever two films clash together on the same, there is always one film that scores more than the previous one and in this, Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s remake is minting more money than Akshay starrer on day 3.

Speaking of Laal Singh Chaddha which is an official remake of Forrest Gump saw growth on Saturday as it collected Rs 8.75 crores on day 3 whereas Raksha Bandhan collections dropped as the film earned Rs 6 crores on day 3 at the box office. Going by the latest trend, Advait Chandan directorial venture LSC is currently leading the box office race even though the numbers are not extremely remarkable. But compared to Aanand L Rai directorial venture, the former is performing well it seems.

Day 1- Thursday – Rs 11.50 crores approx

Day 2- Friday – Rs 7 crores approx

Day 3 – Saturday – Rs 8.75 crores approx

TOTAL – Rs 27.50 crores approx

Both movies are not well received by the fans. While some did not connect with Laal Singh Chaddha, some thought Raksha Bandhan was regressive in nature. Moreover, before the release, both films were under the radar as netizens were constantly trending ‘Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha’ and ‘Boycott Raksha Bandhan.’
