Alia Bhatt-Ranveer Singh starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani opens as the 2nd highest Hindi grosser of 2023 overseas

Karan Johar marked his return to direction after 7 years with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani amid huge expectations and excitement. It finally released on July 28 and the Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer lived up to the hype. That excitement reflected in the box office collections as well as it minted Rs 11.10 crore domestically. But overseas too, the film has received a humongous response.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani worldwide box office

Karan’s directorial have always been much loved overseas. So much so, that they have broken each other’s records in the worldwide market. Be it Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham or Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Karan has always got a lot of love abroad. And that continues with RRKPK as well. The film has opened to a thunderous response overseas collecting over $1.24 million worldwide.

With this, the film has also made the second highest opening day business for a Hindi film in the overseas market this year. RRKPK has opened on Day 1 at No. 2 in Gulf, No. 4 in New Zealand, No. 5 in Australia, No. 8 in the UK, No. 9 in Canada and No. 10 in USA. Considering the word of mouth as well as Karan’s popularity globally, the film will continue its marvellous business and collect bigger numbers over the coming days. Domestically, it is showing over 50 percent jump on day 2 and internationally too, a similar growth is expected.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani review

Starring Alia, Ranveer alongside veterans Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan, RRKPK is a romantic family drama set in Delhi. It follows two vastly culturally different individuals who decide to swap houses for 3 months. They plan to live with each other’s families before getting married.
