Awarapan 2 Box Office Day 6 (Worldwide): Emraan Hashmi-Led Sequel Becomes Actor’s Highest-Grosser Ever; Crosses Rs 150 Cr Mark

The Emraan Hashmi renaissance continues, even if it has slowed down slightly. Awarapan 2, the actor’s latest release, crossed Rs 100 crore in India on Tuesday, marking a significant milestone. However, following this achievement, the film experienced its first slowdown in earnings. Despite this dip, the momentum was enough to push the film’s global earnings past Rs 150 crore. As reported by Sacnilk, the film started with a record-breaking opening weekend. Emraan Hashmi starrer earned over Rs 81 crore net (Rs 97 crore gross). During weekdays, it initially held its ground at the box office before seeing a decline in earnings on Wednesday. The film collected Rs 6.75 crore net on Wednesday, a near-30% dip from the Rs 9.75 crore it made on Tuesday. After six days, the domestic total now stands at Rs 107.50 crore net ( Rs 128 crore gross). Notably, Awarapan 2 is the first Emraan Hashmi-led film to enter the Rs 100-crore club, making it his highest-grossing film ever.

Internationally, the film also gained momentum after a slow start. Awarapan 2 recorded a couple of strong days overseas, with weekend earnings reaching $1.5 million. After six days, its international total is at $2.65 million. This pushes the worldwide gross to Rs 153.59 crore. Although there was initial speculation that the film might touch Rs 170 crore in its first week, the Wednesday slowdown has complicated those prospects. Nevertheless, it is expected to end Week 1 above Rs 160 crore, confirming its status as a financial success early on.

Awarapan 2 is now Emraan Hashmi’s biggest hit. While he has appeared in big films before, this is the first time he has led a film solo and seen such massive success. His previous highest-grossing films include Raaz 3, which earned Rs 100 crore worldwide, and Baadshaho (2017), which grossed Rs 130 crore globally. Awarapan 2 has surpassed the lifetime collections of both. However, the highest-grossing film featuring Hashmi remains Tiger 3, the Salman Khan-led spy thriller that earned Rs 470 crore worldwide—a mark Awarapan 2 is unlikely to reach.
