Box Office Report: ‘Veere Di Wedding’ crosses 50 crore mark in 6 days!

Shashanka Ghosh directorial ‘Veere Di Wedding’ starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania which released last Friday enjoyed a great opening at the box-office even this week. Though the film received a mixed response from the critics, the audience seems to have liked this female-led narrative.

This comeback film of gorgeous actress Kareena Kapoor Khan has already hit a half-century by collecting Rs. 52.90 crores approximately at the box office. However, the collections of the film have taken a dip on the 6th day. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the film’s collection on Twitter. He wrote, “#VeereDiWedding crosses HALF-CENTURY… Biz likely to be affected today [Thu] due to #Kaala and #JurassicWorld… Fri 10.70 cr, Sat 12.25 cr, Sun 13.57 cr, Mon 6.04 cr, Tue 5.47 cr, Wed 4.87 cr. The film’s collections have made the entire star cast rejoice given the fact that it is a woman-centric project. Producer Ekta Kapoor took to her Twitter account and wrote, “Next time i hope when a project with an all women cast is made we r used As an example to get it green lit! N disparity in pay is always justified with ‘women can’t open a film’this with ‘raazi’ shud shut that myth forever AMEN”

The film’s collection may fall further since megastar Rajinikanth’s ‘Kaala’ has released today and Hollywood’s Jurassic World has also hit the silver screens.

‘Veere Di Wedding’ is a female buddy comedy that also stars Sumit Vyas, Neena Gupta and Vivek Mushran in pivotal roles.
