Box Office Reports: ‘Mission Mangal’ inches towards Rs 100 crore club, ‘Batla House’ struggles

On August 15, two mega movies had a clash at the box office-‘Mission Mangal’ and ‘Batla House’. The former has an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Nithya Menen while the latter has John Abraham in the lead role of a cop. Both the movies are having a competition at the box office.

On Day 3, ‘Mission Mangal’ saw growth compared to Friday while ‘Batla House’ also minted a decent number despite strong competition.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter handle to share the box office collection of both the movies. Talking about Akshay Kumar starrer, he tweeted, “#MissionMangal witnesses superb growth on Day 3… Multiplexes of metros + Tier-2 cities are rocking… Mass circuits witness growth and should put up big numbers today.”

On ‘Batla House’ collection, he tweeted, “#BatlaHouse shows substantial growth on Day 3… Has been appreciated and that is reflecting in its numbers, despite a strong opponent… Should witness solid growth today”.

So, while ‘Mission Mangal’ is inching towards Rs 100 crore club, ‘Batla House’ is struggling with its numbers.
