Gangubai Kathiawadi Box Office: Alia Bhatt starrer has a glorious second week

Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi had a more than amazing second week as the movie is now swimming in the 100 crore pool. Gangubai Kathiawadi collected 35 crore nett entering the 000 crore club with a bang. Reported;y the drop from week one to week two has been 47% which is not so bad considering the holiday period in week one.

Alia Bhatt starrer collected 40 crore nett in the Mumbai circuit and is aiming at the 50 crore nett in the circuit as both Maharashtra and Gujarat has performed well so far.

As per a report by Box office India, “The third Friday will tell where the film is going and there has been a drop this morning but it will get stronger from the evening and will give competition to the new releases over the weekend. Gangubai Kathiwadi still has legs and 125 crore nett business at the end of its run is a possibility.”

Meanwhile, Bollywood Bubble gave Gangubai Kathiwadi a rating of 3.5 stars. An excerpt from the movie review read, “Alia Bhatt is gorgeous as Gangubai. There are moments where she shines bright, especially her transition from the innocent and gullible Ganga to being the president of Kamathipura, Gangubai. The shift in body language, voice modulation and use of costumes and makeup is unmissable. There is a sense of vulnerability she brings to Gangu without overtly victimising her. She is reckless yet strong, she is fire and ice both.”
