tubelight movie

Salman Khan’s pre-Eid release ‘Tubelight‘ has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in the first week. The movie has raked in Rs 103 crore nett in week one which makes it the second highest first week earner after ‘Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion’ (Hindi). However, the numbers have witnessed a drop post the holiday of Eid. The movie minted Rs 4.25 crore nett on Thursday. So, the movie has done a really good business in the Eid weekend which has resulted in overall good numbers. It has just crossed the first week business of SRK-starrer ‘Raees’ which had done a business of Rs 102 crore nett. But, the movie may not be able to cross the lifetime business of the movie, considering the fact that the numbers dropped post Eid. Going by the current trend, the second week will be even lower. The movie has certainly under-performed given it is an Eid release and is a Salman Khan movie. Probably the fact that this is not a quintessential Salman movie, replete with an actress as damsel in distress and Salman being a superhero like human, has affected the collections.
