Amar Upadhyay on people not looking at him beyond Mihir Virani

Speaking with us, Amar Upadhyay opened up about the decision to leave Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Speaking of which, he said, “Log toh perception banate hi hai. Wo toh automatic mode me hi hota hai. Till I am confident within myself and I know what capabilities I have as an actor, so I don’t need people’s validation. Ye risk maine liya tha chodne ka. Toh I don’t blame anyone and I don’t need to blame myself as well. If I have done something and it didn’t work, so it didn’t work.

He added, “Later on once and twice in my life people came and told me, my family came an told me that tumko lagta nahi ke ye galat kiya hai? Maine kaha ke kya galat kiya hai. Uss situation me, uss waqt agar sahi laga tha mujhe, toh I have to be with myself and have confidence in myself. So I don’t go into the zone of rethinking.”

Amar Upadhyay on feeling discriminated

Doree actor Amar Upadhyay also commented on feeling discriminated in the television industry. He said, “Primarily yeah, TV industry is like that but the kind of roles that I have done, mostly they were male-oriented. Female-oriented story hoti thi par it used to ultimately turn onto the males. Even this show Doree is between father and daughter, so the father is very important. So wo hota hai, TV medium hi aisa hai. Auratein zyada dekhti hai so they connect with the women’s problem ke wo kyha emotion se guzarte hai. So maybe television is designed that way. And there’s nothing wrong in that. In this huge television, a big industry, if I find a space where I can stand out, which the channels have given me that kind of roles that my character stands out.”

Currently, Amar Upadhyay is a part of Doree, a show which is not only engaging but also speaks about a very sensitive topic.

Further, he also opened up about lack of movie offers despite being a part of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
