EXCLUSIVE: Eijaz Khan reveals he didn’t know Shah Rukh Khan had a double role till he shot for Jawan, opens up on hitting him and Nayanthara

Actor Eijaz Khan bagged an important role in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan. He impressed thousands with his grey character and most importantly during the fight sequences. Eijaz was seen fighting with Shah Rukh Khan as well as Nayanthara in Jawan. But did you know that he had absolutely no idea that SRK has a double role? Well, recalling the incident, Eijaz revealed an interesting story about SRK’s double role in Jawan in a candid chat with Bollywood Bubble. Moreover, he also revealed that he was scared to hit Shah Rukh and Nayanthara in the movie.

Eijaz Khan on bagging the role a day prior to shoot Jawan

When asked if it was special to share the screen with both SRK in Jawan, Eijaz Khan said, “Of course. When I was shooting the fight sequence I really didn’t know the story as much because I got associated with the project one night before I started shooting. A very old producer friend of mine Bonnie called me, he’s one of The Producers with Red Chillies now. He called me to say so and so is the scene right now there is a fight sequence with Shah Rukh. I don’t know what else is there going to be it’s going to be in development but would you want to be a part of it?

“I said of course man. Okay fine right now go and give your measurements in Red Chillies. I did that, the next night, I was shooting and we didn’t have a script per se because I just joined in. It was only ‘on need to know basis’, so I really didn’t know the story.“

Eijaz on Shah Rukh Khan’s double role

When asked if he knew that there would be a second SRK, Eijaz who was stunned back then said, “I didn’t know that.” He then continued, “I was like how has he changed, what is going on? Was it a double role, what is going on?’ I was like that and it was brilliant to work with him that way. I got to some hard-hitting, genuinely hard-hitting fight sequences which I was really scared of yeah because of course everything is make-believe but there is scope of injury especially when you’re so nervous so I was really nervous.“

When asked him about the fight sequence with Shah Rukh and Nayanthara

Eijaz said, “Don’t ask. Genuinely, I’m not making it up. Genuinely there was a scene where I’m supposed to hit Shah Rukh Sir with the butt of the gun. That was a real gun and it was sliding from my hand only and I was supposed to hit him hard but I did it softly. And Atlee Sir was saying, ‘Eijaz, I want more expression’. Finally, Shah Rukh sir ‘Do it properly.’ I said ‘okay’ and then I extended my hand and did that. I was still worried that it would slip from my hand, it would hurt him on his shoulder.“

“I know he’s got a shoulder ailment because his shoulder was dislocated and I went to the same surgeon for my shoulder dislocation to get it operated. So, I know that so I was really worried and then I had to kick Nayanthara ma’am that way. Man, you have no idea but I think I did a decent job, it is acting,” he continued.
