Elli AvrRam Admits Being Inclined Towards South Industry Than Bollywood

With Elli AvrRam taking a step forward in the South industry, when asked whether she believes the South film industry produces more content-driven films compared to Bollywood, Elli said, “Yeah, I definitely do feel that. I definitely feel ki South mein woh zyada milta hai content-driven films, I feel so. Maybe if I compare more with what I have been a part of so far, like in Bollywood, I still feel that it’s been more like the typical typecast and that typical glamour role only.”

She added,” Matlab aap pretty ho, pretty hi raho, you know. But that’s the reason I am very grateful when I did get cast in Malang, because it was the first time that I was really portrayed differently. In a way, nobody would have expected that I would do a role like this. And I was told this also, that there were a lot of filmmakers and producers who were shocked. Being like, ‘Wow, Elli is a serious actress, like she also prefers doing roles like this.’ And I was like, haan, obviously.”

Elli concluded, “You know, and that’s when I started to realise this ki log hamesha ek perception rakhte hain aapke baare mein. Until they don’t meet you saamne se and get to know your story, your passion, your love and everything, woh hamesha ek aisi soch rakhenge aapke baare mein. Ki achha, unko bas yeh karna hai, unko bas yeh hi achha lagta hai.”

Elli AvrRam Reflects On The Differences Between Bollywood And South Industry

When asked about the differences between working in Bollywood and the South industry, Elli compared, “I have had beautiful experiences in both Bollywood and in the South. I have found it more peaceful on set in the South. That is because I have shot like two other films as well. That is something I enjoyed a lot. Whereas in Bollywood, I feel it’s more like ‘chalo’ and all of that rush. But over there, my experience with the three films, it was very calm, so I was like, wow, this is interesting to experience. So yeah, that is something I really, really enjoyed.”

The Goodbye actress added, “But by God’s grace, I have had good experiences in both industries. But actually, better experiences in the South. In terms of coordination with everyone, using more walkie-talkies and not shouting or screaming. And being more like, ‘Okay, have you had your breakfast? You eat, and then let’s work.’ Whereas my experience in Bollywood has been more like you’re eating. And, suddenly it’s like, ‘Shot ready hai, we need you, khana hatao.’ Like they don’t care whether you’ve eaten or not. Even if you’re about to faint — shot is ready. But again, it depends on who you end up working with.”
