Shaad Randhawa Reveals Harshvardhan Rane Studied During Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat

When asked about his experience working with Harshvardhan Rane in Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, Shaad Randhawa said, “Harshvardhan Rane is a completely, completely— I don’t know — different person. He is totally multifaceted. Unke… main aapko ek example deta hoon — hum log rehearse kar rahe the scenes, aur humare paas zyada time bhi nahi tha. 30–35 din mein film shoot karni thi. But wo rehearsal karte the, phir bolte the ‘Bhai, main aa raha hoon.’ Toh socha — kahan jaata hai yeh aadmi? Main dekha — wahan baith ke kuch notes likh raha hai.”

Continuing, he said, “Maine bola, ‘Bhai ho gaya rehearsal?’ Humne discuss karke bola, ‘Yeh film ka nahi lag raha.’ Toh poocha, ‘Yeh kya hai?’ Bola, ‘Bhai main exam ke liye tayari kar raha hoon.’ Maine bola, ‘Kaunsa exam de rahe ho abhi?’ Toh bola, ‘Psychology major ka.’ I think he did that, and woh uski padhai kar raha tha while the gruelling schedule of Deewaniyat was going on! Phir bhai jungleon mein nikal jaate hain — wo wildlife photographer hain. Set pe bhi photographer the. Unko light ke baare mein pata hai, unko camera ka full knowledge hai. He’s such a team player and a very secure actor.”

Shaad Reveals Harshvardhan Improvises On Set

Randhawa recalled an incident of Rane improvising on sets. He said, “First day pe hi unhone kaha tha, ‘Bhai, ye jo bond hai Vikram Aditya Bhosle aur Sawant ka, ye humein create karna padega.’ Aur unhone wo kiya. Agar aap film dekhenge toh aap notice karenge — main scenes mein zyada hoon bhi nahi, but I’m there with him throughout. Unhone chhoti-chhoti gestures kiye. Plus ek din main makeup van mein baitha tha, toh dada ne bola, ‘Sir aaye hain.’ Maine poocha, ‘Kaun sir aaye?’ Darwaza khola toh Harsh bhai khade the, script leke. Maine bola, ‘Kya hua bhai?'”

The actor added, “Toh bola, ‘Bhai, ye aap lines learn kar lena.’ Maine bola, ‘Maine padh liya hai scene, meri lines nahi hain.’ Toh bola, ‘Nahi nahi bhai, ye aapki lines hain.’ Maine kaha, ‘Samjha nahi.’ Toh bola, ‘Nahi, maine Milap sir se bhi baat kar li hai — ye mera character bolte hue acha nahi lagega, ye aapke character ko bolna chahiye.’ Aur unhone ye isliye nahi kiya ki mera role improve ho, he was thinking about the overall picture of the film — and he was so right.”

He concluded, “Ek aur scene tha jo maine contemplate kiya tha, jo mujhe laga as a character hona chahiye — unhone meri baat suni, agree kiya, aur Milap, main, aur Harsh ne milke wo scene work out kiya. So it was a very collaborative effort. And it was amazing to see an actor working so hard, you know, for the overall film. Aur ye toh main apna experience bata raha hoon — Harsh does that for every department in the film. He is so involved and so positive, it’s all this energy.”

The Aashiqui 2 actor added, “And I firmly believe — chahe jo bhi films ka naam aapne liya — main apne aapko bahut khushkismat maanta hoon that I’ve been a part of films which had such good directors and such good co-actors. All the actors I’ve worked with are so secure and large-hearted that mujhe kabhi laga hi nahi, in fact sabne support hi kiya hai. It was amazing — and even to work with Sonam, she’s so professional, so elegant, so classy, toh bahut maza aaya us film mein.”

Shaad Randhawa was recently seen in Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat.
