Tanishk Bagchi On Masakali 2.0

In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Tanishk Bagchi talks about this track, Masakali 2.0. “He says, “It was a very bad track… a very badly produced track. I had made the first version myself, and I had thrown it into a folder named “waste”. Yeah, it was so bad that I literally labelled it waste. You know how it is—sometimes you don’t even like your own work. I was the producer of that track initially, but I felt like it was way below standard. Sometimes the mood isn’t right, sometimes the execution just doesn’t land.

He added, “The sad part is, I had casually sent an early draft of that track to someone. And later I found out—they went ahead and released that very draft, without even telling me, without involving me at all. And obviously, when it was released, it flopped. What could I even do at that point? 99% of my work is from the heart, with full focus on quality. But that 1%—sometimes these slips happen, and even I’m not happy with it.

He continued, “I even spoke to them—told them, “This was wrong.” But that’s the thing, everything is so instant these days. Something that trends today, people forget it tomorrow. Here, everything happens in milliseconds. Just like reels—no one remembers them after seven days. Same with controversies—a new one shows up, the old one disappears. Everything gets flushed out, everything resets.”
